Proof for Zippy kristabelle04 July 6 2004, 23:32:45 UTC
As the owner of Zippy for 6 years and Cleo for 5 (or so...I don't really remember), I feel the need to defend my loyal friend and animal Zippy...as well as for the sake of good, healthy debate.
Zippy was adopted at the end of 6th grade after the loss of our previous cat, Chaps. Chaps had been Jackie's cat, but she moved and her stepdad abandoned it so rather then letting him turn into a "popsicle" as he so affectionately said, we took the cat in...sorta. My mom wasn't down with pets that much, seeing as how we hadn't really had any except things in tanks (grow-a-frogs, lizards...one goldfish that lived a 5-day life), and so Chaps was an outdoor cat that came in the basement when he wanted to and then went back out. We still got his shots and all, he just didn't come in the house. Til one day in 6th grade when he showed up home very sick and layed in the basement under a chair all night and couldn't even open his mouth...the next day my mom and stepdad took him to the vet, where he died on the table. It was either from poison by someone that poisoned uncollared "stray" cats (Chaps always took his collars off), or a heartworm...either way, it was caused from his outdoor lifestyle. I called Jackie the day it happened and we cried, as did her mom and my mom. My mom cried out of guilt, feeling like Chaps was a great animal and she did not treat him well enough and should have let him in the house and whatnot.
After a grieving period passed, we looked around and found Zippy as a kitten and adopted him. This cat would be treated differently: he would be pampered, never to go outside, we would clip his nails, put a cute ID tag on his royal blue collar, he'd be a lap kitty, and the house would be his reign...and so it was. He was pampered so much that he grew to his current enormous size of 17 pounds. We knew his life was in danger in this condition...he would die of obesity in a few short years. Jody happened to have a friend with a neighbor with a cat that they wanted off their hands, cause she didn't get along with their other cats, and so came Cleo. There was the process of getting them acquainted, with much hissing and fighting, andthen they adjusted to best friends, foes, lovers...who the hell knows, but the fighting is now seldom. Anyway...through it all Zippy has been the loyal cat that sleeps in my bed nearly every night and has been there as a pee-low when necessary. He was once a show cat, who fetched and danced for small children. He really did fetch...his choice item was party blowouts. Cleo came into the scene as a young, attractive girl and as a way to get Zippy to run around and lose some chunk. But the plan didn't go completely as planned...Zippy is still chunk. Cleo has moved on as Zippy never really gave her a fair chance. However, she never really got over the lost love, and has since become a dirty dirty whore. It's time she was seen for what she is...she's all over every man that comes through the door of our house, sitting in their laps, kissing them...it's pathetic and ridiculous. Just because she'sa closet slut doesn't mean she's not just as bad. She's in for a shock come judgement day when Zippy passes through the pearly white gates and she gets sent to the bed of Satan.
