I wrote an article to send out to some websites about the upcoming Benedictus: an International Collaboration Among Artists from Iran, Israel and the US. It's basically focused on the collaboration among the artists (has been a nearly 4 year project).
There are 1 or 2 more sites that will be "publishing" (is that what you call it if it's on the web? probably not) it on their sites (with more photos), but in the mean time, the first site has "published" it here (and I'll admit to feeling kind of happy/excited about it...as it reminds me that I really should get some of my writing out there more often, and inspires me to actually try to finish some of the more creative writing I have started):
http://www.evidenceofhumanity.org/story.php?id=235 Hope it's not too lame that I'm posting something "work" related, but I wrote the article from a point of a great deal of personal inspiration from witnessing some of the collaborative process, so it feels more personal to me than a work related post...plus I find it inspiring enough that I thought some of you might, too.
PS--there's a free film/discussion event about the collaboration tomorrow night from 7-9 pm at the SF Arts Institute: 800 Chestnut Street , SF., Studio 18. 4 of 5 of the creative team will be there. And me too. So yeah, come on out if you're feeling it.
The website itself is a cool idea. They write/post stories about "inspiring people who are changing the world." The guy is writing another piece about
Golden Thread Productions (theatre company I work for) that should be up soon.
Tickets for the show are already on sale. It's going to be good (not saying that just because I work for/like the theatre company), I think, and politically relevant, engaging, etc...so I hope you all can come! Student and senior tickets as well as group discounts available. Preview is Sept 29th and 30th (pay what you can) and opens Oct 1st - Oct 21st
