my obsession with television is just sad
So apparently--word on the street is (or actually at ASSB)--that Tim Minear and David Fury were on the Succubus club and said that Charisma would be a recurring character and Vincent would "be back sometime." I am officially delaying my massive Connor-induced apoplectic fit until further notice. That's the good news though. The bad news is that Marsters was instrumental in getting the show renewed (soulless commercial degrading EVIL WB) and that people seem to think that Minear and Fury were--and I'm trying not to use a really crude phrase here--all about the Spike worship. Fuck the actual cast, fuck the Angel fans, most of whom ARE Angel fans cause they ran screaming from Buffy BECAUSE of Spike. (not me particularly, I always liked Angel better) This is exactly how it was when Daniel left Stargate, and he was like the Cordy of that show. But the fact that they aren't throwing her and Connor's stories away for forever and all time makes me less . . . testy.
I was watching Buffy on Biography tonight, and I got all nostalgic thinking about when it first came on, how it was such a big deal when Angel first went bad, and how Graduation Day part 2 was on a week after my actual graduation. So I was thinking that maybe I take a little too much pride in being an old-school Buffy fan. I'm an old-school Buffy snob as well as a pop culture snob. But people are always there to give you a lot of shit because you don't like Spike or you don't like seasons 6 and 7. Some of them don't even remember when Spike was evil, didn't even watch then. Some of them were eight years old then. Sometimes I just want to say, "Look. You weren't there at the beginning, and some of us that were have a few issues. We bitch because we care."
I don't even have time to get into how I sobbed over the Dawson's Creek finale, even though I haven't watched that show in years. But Pacey instead of Dawson? Yuck.
My mom gave me an electric toothbrush. I haven't had one of those since I was little. They are so much fun.
