one day I'll like a straight one

I wanted to speak on a lighter subject--one that has nothing to do with torturing a certain writer-director but does, of course, have to do with television.

I confess I've been a Real World junkie since age twelve. It's like heroin--you hate yourself, you feel empty inside, you feel unclean, but you need a fix. And nothing makes me happier then when it's that time of year again. New Real World season! I was almost cured last season because RW: Vegas was so utterly and agonizingly awful, but RW: Paris is looking much better already.

Seriously I was watching the casting special, and wtf is Arissa doing? She kept shaking her head and bugging out her eyes and doing some really bad acting. Didn't anyone tell her to stop?

But yeah. Paris. Sooooo much better than Vegas. This city is overrated. And once again, they are continuing in the proud tradition began by Danny from RW: New Orleans--the impossibly adorable, charming gay guy. I am such a hag. One day, I dream of liking a heterosexual male, be it in real life or even on the Real World. You know that SNL skit, "Girl with No Gaydar"? That's me. Only I'm just in denial of my gaydar.

Anyway, meet Simon. He's only eighteen. And he's an Irish model. And the thing he said on the casting special about Americans talking really enthusiastically and giving lots of facts about things they know nothing about was charm. Total charm.
