Hostile Makeover

Unpopular opinion ahead: I kinda liked watching Mary in "Hostile Makeover".

Admittedly, I fast-forwarded through 70 % of it and I had prepared myself for the worst, including lots of alcohol, to endure this movie and her most likely awkward scenes.

But surprise, her scenes were actually fun to watch when you managed to see it through the lense of a quirky, mindless movie. I kind of liked that she was so different from Laura Roslin. Despite the silly concept and some silly lines, Mary still added some nice nuances to her character, and it was amusing to watch her act that "light" role.

I mainly liked her scenes in her daughter's appartment, cringed a teeny tiny bit at every scene that involved fashion and makeovers, but overall I understand now why Mary took this offer. Just for the different kind of acting material (after all the intense stuff) and the chance to be silly (plus a good paycheck, probably). Besides, after playing a character who owned maybe 6 outfits in 5 years, the "fashion" part of this movie must have had a severe psychological effect on making this decision.

P.S.: If you guys think Lifetime movies are bad, you have to watch some Rosamunde Pilcher. *g*
