A two-second update before I continue/finish/watchTV packing:

I'm moving on and out, tomorrow morning, bright and early. Can't believe that a sitcom-episode-worthy milestone like "going to college" has finally come my way. it's a funny, funny feeling, being the only one in your house who's packing up... though the amount I'm packing suggests that I'm only going on a two-week vacation. I'm not sure whether that bodes poorly for my dorm or for my future trips through airports.

There is an ungodly amount of laundry to do when you're moving out -- towels, sheets and comforters (the one you're taking, the ones you're leaving behind), light clothes, dark clothes, new clothes that need to be washed seperately as to not dye older clothes a wussified shade of pink... And Mom is taking that stupid Civic, so I get to leave behind stuff for Matt to bring when he gets back, which I feel poorly about -- my office chair, for sure, and probably a few boxes of decorations and books and all the cool thingies for dorm living.

Can't wait to see my room. As I said earlier, not familiar with carson, so this should be good...

Oh my GOD, I own so much shit. I'm not taking even a fraction of it. So much of this junk is just remnants of a childhood that I can't let go but don't want to show off to everyone in the hall. What the fuck am I supposed to do with something as adorable as Liddle Kiddles -- sell them? PAH!

I'm sad that I'll be missing all the good new TV. Not too sad, really, but what about "The Daily Show"? I guess I'll have to learn bittorrent finally?

Oh, and I met Emily (my beloved roomie) for coffee and phone-tag on Monday, and I think we'll get along swimmingly. She seems really sweet, and as soon as the initial helloI'llbelivinginyourpersonalbubbleforninemonths thing wears off, it should be a lot of fun. She's an interior decorating person (like Mom, ha), so maybe she can give me some hot advice on all the new trends. For example:

"OMG MELANIE, YOU'RE A GENIUS -- YOUR ORANGE SHEETS ARE SO /IN/ THIS SEASON, AND /EVERY/ SEASON, AND OMG, IS THAT A MANNEQUIN HAND?! YOU'RE SO COOL!"

Yes. Two-second post indeed.

Anyway, you all know my number, my email, my MySpace, my FaceBook... call me, contact me, don't forget me. I'll only be a few hours away, but hopefully I'll be so busy with school and all the cool kids at UO that I won't be coming back every other weekend, like my parents want.

tv, friends, uo
