Nice enough weekend.
Saturday was a long day, as Saturdays have been lately. Tech days, running Regionals at Century, and, this week and next, running a matinee and evening performance. Of course, I'm sick right now, because sickness always comes at the most convenient time.
It's partially my own fault for not getting much sleep, but I got dogsick last Tuesday -- couldn't even speak. But it's some viral thing (not strep or whatever), so the best I could do was pop cough drops (those things evoke a Pavlovian reaction of nausea within me, too), give any cast members at all close to me these Hall Defense Vitamin C things, and suck it up. I'm sucking it up pretty well, I must say, for my standards. But it still sucks. The illness has progressed to half-deafness, stuffy nose, phlegm-y coughing, and headache caused by coughing. But people are being really nice to me, so that helps. Jade sent me a carnation on Valentine's Day as Get Well thing. :)
Anyway, back to Saturday. Matinee went off okay, but with a very bad scene change from Neverland to Lost Boy Hideout. Grass half down, set off-center, and a Wooden Thingie broken off the ship. That was fun, but at least no legs ripped. >< The evening show was amazing though. Almost a full house!!! ... Of course, if you know me, you know I'm saying this with the excitement expected of me, but for some reason, it never excites me nearly as much as everyone else. I don't know what my problem is. I don't get nervous going on stage ever or anything. I even break the fourth wall and sing with Colette, Tori, and Daniel on the corner of the stage, but it just.. never bugs me. Barely even excites me. I'm so weird...
So the evening show went well (and yes, I think Kyle's note might have had a bit to do with it), and we all went out to Godfather's afterwards to party. I was the first person there, alone for about ten minutes as everyone else bothered to arrive in carpools.Even though I'm sick, I just had to go, especially after missing the big"SUPER DUPER FUN OMGITWASAWESOME" cast party at Stephanie's on Friday. I usually hate cast stuff, because I saw it get so boring and cliquey at Pajama Game stuff, and I was always on the outside of the laughter and fun, but, uhm, since I was first, the party sorta came to me. Well, to Kyle. :P So it was fun to be in the middle and laugh and ignore everyone else. I'm so bad. ^_^
Speaking of Kyle, I'm starting to feel awfully bad for the freshmen and people who don't know some of the "Oldies" of the Century Drama Department, as they stand in my memory from frosh and sophomore year. Kyle, Rachel, Amber VanWinkle, Apollo Pickering, Sarah Makus, Neil Cairns, Austin Turnbull, James Olsen, Andree McOmie, and some other people who I'm sadly forgetting right now. At least everyone will know Amador. >_> I dunno, but I'm starting to feel really old, and next year, after Nate and Wall and Tara and Colette and Tori and Jon leave, it'll be weird. I'll be an oldie. How will this department ever survive? o_o
All right, I'm done. Boring post after a long time of no posts, but I'm just procrastinating homework. For anyone who cares, Sunset High School is doing a production of Pajama Game in March, which will, no doubt, be better than ours. I'm so interested to see. :)
