art blabs

A couple weeks ago, we went to the Danforth Mseum in Framingham. the art was mostly abstract, it was okay. One of the artists was also a teacher at the museum and upstairs there was a gallery of abstract paintings from artists taking his class. This art was so much better than what their teacher was doing, it was kind of weird. There was wit and and energy, maybe one or two of the paintings was kind of weak on technique (and that does need to be pretty weak if I notice something like that) What does it mean that the students are better than the teacher? Is this a jaded thing?

Tomorrow, if all goes well, I will be going to the Worcester Museum to see the show Whot Shot Rock and Roll, this rock and roll photo show that came from the Brooklyn museum. Heather already saw it, said it was good
