I'm not really interested in politics. I just heard about the burnt
out U.S. embassy in Belgrad when a Serbian friend of mine told me that
he is depressed of the situation.
I just saw a news selection about
your 'elections' in television before reading your letter. They told
Medvedev is the only chanceful candidate and show us the opponents and
a few second of the presidential candidate's debate.
It was even freakier than ours use to be. As a friend of mine used to
say we are the country where the liberal party refused to support the
candidate of its coalition partner for the chair of the president of
republic who was a handicapped woman.
Our political life is horrible. We will vote for a referendum next
Saturday. It's the stupidest way to spend 15 million Euros. The
questions are like this: "Do you agree not to pay dues for medical
services?" (Hell yeah) or "Do you agree university students shouldn't
pay tuition fee?" (Of course). The people simply don't understand the
basic rules of economy. They think the state pay instead of them and
not they are paying it back with their taxes. I know now I won't go
home just to vote. I hate politics.
