ETA: Thank you for not killing the black guy first.
Cap, Bucky, and one of the soldiers enter a high-drama action scene. "Someone's going to die. Cap can't, Bucky won't this early in the movie... darnit, you're going to pull a total dick move, aren't you?"
And you didn't! I mean, you killed off Bucky without any real build-up, but it's okay. I'm just going to pin that on bad editing.
Other things:
I love the new costume design. No scales? Wings painted onto an honest-to-goodness helmet? Darling I am in love.
Misogyny was present, but as long as Cap gets a talk the first time he tries to use it in the present era, it's.. manageable. Considerably less awful stuff than I'd expect from what amounts to an AU period piece.
I loved Dr. Erskine so, so much.
