I've made rice and raisins for the first time in years.
My grandfather used to make this for us -- white, white rice floating in milk, sweet raisins peeking through when you dip your spoon. Like, the most wicked comfort food in existence. <3 (Seriously, nothing could shut us up faster.)
Though honestly, this is leaning a little further towards rice pudding than rice-and-milk. Grampa served it cold -- rice, milk, sugar, and raisins, kinda perfect for hot weather.
This, on the other hand, is rice cooked with a little less water than usual, set for five minutes, and then heated again with enough milk to float in. So most of the milk was absorbed, leaving it saucy rather than soupy. And honey substituted for sugar, since I think it's been proven that I'll eat honey with anything.
(Plus cinnamon and nutmeg, and some chai-tea mix, too.)
