Plumbing today. Yay.
I'm trying to decide how much work I want to do in the hall bathroom:

I've torn out the old vanity, and spent hours trying to fix the valves. I broke the left valve in my attempt to turn the water off.

Few hours of cleanup and new valves later, I again have water in my house. But I'm now looking at this:

I'm trying to decide what to do about this damn bathroom. The former owners had "texturized the walls" to the point where you felt you were in a briar patch when you came out of the shower.

I took the random orbit sander and did my best to fix this, but the walls are still textured, just no longer pokey.

Is it worth it to take down the cherry cabinet, remove the toilet, take out the medicine cabinet (which is getting tossed anyhow) and doing a skim coat to the walls, putting some kind of vinyl stickum tile or dura-ceramic down on the floor, repainting, and then re-installing the toilet, cabinet, a new vanity and new medicine cabinet?
I originally purchased this pedestal, but have since changed my mind - it's just a hair too big to work.

Opinions? I could do this in a weekend, or take 2-3 and have it be spiffy, but I'm not planning on being here much longer... is it worth it? Maybe tile around the splash area of the sink?
