So, that happened.  My students were highly amused by my increasing levels of flail as the Giants made their way through the post-season but couldn't understand why I refused to get openly optimistic, even when we were up 3 games against Texas in the World Series.  I said I remembered 2002 all too clearly, when we'd been mere outs away from winning
