I'm not dead (yet)
I'm just 4 weeks into the PhD program up here. Each weekend I say "self, you're going to do something fun, like work on that big bang story you completely flaked out on, or those 20 Inception stories you have floating around in your head. Maybe play a video game."
Instead, each Friday I've gotten ridiculously drunk with my cohort, spent most of Saturday recovering and then Sunday scrambling to do all the studying I should have been doing. Also complicating this was the fact that I did not get internet & cable at my apartment until last week. I've been here since the beginning of August, mind. One of the joys of moving to a college town in the middle of nowhere that I've discovered is that everyone else is moving at the same time as you, so installing your utilities can take up to 1-2 months.
Mostly for Dom and whoever took that bet: it looks like the odds are going in favor of drinking myself to death.
