There is only one more day until the epic, amazing four day holiday of greatness!
It will be so wonderful after spending nine (NINE!!) days working in the green warehouse of evilness. Today I was 1st Sergeant for our training exercise, and I thought I did well, but the officer who received our brief still chewed me out (well, I'll admit I wasn't perfect) but at least I didn't get "fired"... whew. Also, since I briefed today, I will not be chosen to brief tomorrow, which will more than likely be to a Lt. Colonel. (PS: I am a SAMS BAMF now!)
I will also be spending at least an hour or so at the DEERS office tomorrow trying to get my name mixup thing fixed... it is too weird. My name is wrong in DEERS, and it's not even my maiden name, it's just... wrong. So I have been there three times, and they tell me I need some new document every time. So now I will have an appointment, and I will be armed with driver license, CAC, SS Card, ORB, certified copy of marriage license, confirmation of legal name change by S-1.... let them turn me away now!
For non military types, the so what factor is that if my name doesn't match what is in the system, I can't see the doctor or get prescriptions because I "don't exist." Not good.
Ted, I am going to get serious about meeting up with you one weekend. I got a new number, so expect a text from me with a 760 area code :)
