Pic Spam Backlog: Chapter 23
Time for pic spam part 2! These are extra photos that went with my most recent chapter.
This rotation started with me spending a lot of time rearranging the hood and syncing sims ages. I now have an age chart so that when Gen 4 begins to graduate everyone will remain at the same relative ages. I'm actually considering putting in Di's aging mod as well so having everything exactly where I want it will be a big help!
Let's talk about my newest addition to the hood! Miguel here is a lucky man and he knows it.
You see originally Vicky wasn't going to marry. I got her a steady boyfriend to keep her happy (shown here) but she wasn't going to get to have any kids in my attempt at population control.
Of course then Jess paired up Vicky and Miguel in her hood and they were so cute together I decided they had to be together in mine as well. Now Miguel does super cute things just to stay on my good side. For example, one day I caught him doing this at the front of the house.
He was washing the window but since this is a two tile window he actually ended up washing the wall. I was highly amused.
Vicky and Miguel's date in the chapter took place in the restaurant that is above the theater in my opera house.
Of course one of the problems of trying to send my sims out on dates anywhere is that there are already so many Penguinos that someone is always crashing the date. At least Scott look dashing doing it.
This was an entertaining part of their dinner conversation, especially because Vicky looks a bit surprised and appalled. He is part romance sim dear!
Of course after Miguel had moved in that topic became a favorite one in general. And I wonder why Cayden rolled Pleasure/Romance...
The wedding was a pain to shoot as usual and most of what ended up in the chapter was staged. Everyone got summoned to the lot and then changed into their formal attire. The nice thing about going around and cleaning things up in the hood was that some sims got new outfits. Dorian has a nice new formal kilt courtesy of dicreasy and Jenny's new dress was made by leilia.
I also got to see some of my college kids in their formal wear for the first time. Pearl is almost unrecognizable with her hair down and Memphis looks smashing in a tux!
Sims had trouble getting into the greenhouse in time for the actual wedding so I took off the back wall in the hopes that that would let them get to their seats.
Instead most of them just stayed where they were on the other side of the house and clapped. (I do love how excited Captain looks in the picture above this one though. He's such a family sim!)

The downside of inviting my simself to these things. Remember how I said in the last pic spam that King had picked my Noelle clone as his one? Well once she was out of the picture apparently he decided my simself should be his next girlfriend. I really need to import Simon into this hood...
Of course my simself is off limits so I found King this nice young lady and they seem to be quite happy together.
And just in case you are worried, Bella hasn't been left out. I did find her a steady boyfriend as well.
And they seem to be getting along great as well.
I threw a lot of kids/teen days this rotation but only the one at Vicky/Miguel/King/Emperor/Suzanne/Bella's house made it into the chapter. I had to do some re-staging for this scene with Edith and Jeanie though. See the hot tub glowing in the background?
Well Captain and Cara were uncontrollable on the lot and their timers went off just as I was filming this conversation.
Thanks a bunch you two.
Everyday was kids day at Ferd and Mag's house for awhile. Even if the pseudo-quads didn't bring anyone home from school it was always difficult to keep up with them. I could usually find Ginny at the piano though. I think Emmi might just become her idol...
Luna was usually off in her own little world and usually doing something that involved pulling silly faces. I love her.
Arthur is apparently a tub pirate!
And an avid soccer player. Which is something that he doesn't get to play all that often since the ground is usually covered in snow.
The girls apparently prefer jump rope.
Kid/teen day at the main house was particularly interesting. The 6 kids all stayed upstairs and learned to dance with Dorian while Jenny made herself scarce.
(See what I mean about Luna pulling the best faces?)
Meanwhile Edith and Jeanie hid in the basement as far away from everyone else as they could get. I love it when sims act in character in the game!
Popper and Dagmar have been active at the main house as well.
They particularly like going after Jenny. I think they might have disapproved of the way she had been running things. (I love how Dorian is all unconcerned in the background there.)
Don't feel too bad for Jenny though. Her dance studio recently got a remodel and is now full of trophies and plaques that are converted sims 3 objects!
Jeanie of course left for college at the end of the chapter but her whole family got to see her off cheerfully.
Edith also headed off to college and her father, Scott, almost missed it!
Their transition outfits weren't great but Edith definitely got the worse end of the deal.
They cleaned up nicely though. Jeanie got a nose piercing as well because she wouldn't be Jeanie if she wasn't looking for a way to rebel.
Memphis is having a good time in college. This really was his first date with Carla.
Of course I had to shoot around family members who wanted to crash the party. Hence the reason I didn't actually include any shots of Crumplebottom bowling.
I think Vicky may have regretted her decision to chaperon though when this guy tried to hit on her.
She escaped to go bowling and ruin Kodak moments instead.
Memphis got his first kiss and then some on the date but this will be happening differently in the story.
They also managed to not get slapped by Crumplebottom which I found impressive since she clearly was not amused.
I liked how many different dodads they got just from the one kiss!
They didn't fall in love until the second date at Carla's dorm though. And despite all appearances Memphis is falling in love with Carla here, she's just out of the shot. This picture definitely made me laugh though.
See, Carla was right there the whole time.
Carla is an awesome sim and I've been enjoying having her around. She thinks Memphis looks crazy when he dances.
And I like to think that this particular prank led to Memphis and Carla teaming up for an epic take down of the cow mascot.
Of course this was also the chapter where we lost Captain and Cara. Captain has been in every single chapter I have ever written so far so this is going to be very weird for me. Captain and Cara got to pretty much do whatever they wanted during their last few days in my game. Here they are enjoying pieces left over from their wedding cake. I've taken to storing the remaining wedding cakes in someone's inventory and intended to take it out for their golden wedding anniversary. But I forgot to do that when I threw that particular party so they got to just enjoy it together.
Cara apparently was really happy with this picture of her and Captain.
Like I said they got to do the things they enjoyed, which basically meant their hobbies and being together as much as possible.
This is Captain and Cara's actual last night in my game. I had miscalculated and originally thought that they were going to pass on Gloria's teen birthday but instead they went the night after. I had already planned the end of the chapter though so what you saw was mostly staged. In the end it was just the members of the main house who were there.
Captain had a fear of Cara dying and I was worried that he wouldn't get a platinum gravestone when he took the hit right before Grim came for him. But the fact that he was permaplat meant I had nothing to worry about.
I am going to miss these two but I'm excited about generation 5 babies that will hopefully be coming soon to fill the void!
