& yay vegetarian! Yeah, I certainly couldn't see myself going back either. I'll admit that if I TRAVEL THE WORLD!!!1 like I want to someday, I would eat meat as part of a cultural experience (so I would be eating stuff I couldn't get here in America, generally - so no hamburgers or anything XD), but otherwise I wouldn't go back. ♥

Oh yeah, definitely on the travelling thing. I wouldn't miss out on trying foreign foods while abroad, but as for run-of-the-mill eating here in the States, meat = no thanks. I REFUSE to eat veal under any circumstances, but I'd make an exception if it was a special circumstance like that ^

Definitely for me, especially after reading Fast Food Nation for school. Oh my, I think I might just be vegetarian now even if I wasn't before reading that book. I feel like I'm avoiding so many hundreds of health problems by NOT eating meat, but maybe I'm wrong. Gah, anyhow.

Oh god, Fast Food Nation. I read parts of the book and watched the movie. It was that plus Skinny Bitch, Don't Eat This Book (the written companion to Supersize Me), and a farm rescue website that convinced me to once and for all give up meat. It's just not worth it, ugh. I already feel MUCH better than I did previously; I'm extremely lactose intolerant, and finding out that the "HEY LET'S MAKE YOU NOT LACTOSE INTOLERANT! :D" capsules and such contained enzymes from sheep stomach, uhhhh. WOW, yeah, no thanks, I'll use soy or rice milk

Oh wow, being vegetarian AND lactose intolerant? I've just been thinking recently that I shouldn't be so big on dairy products, considering they come from teh poor cowz, but wow :o
And is it so bad that when people ask me WHY I'm vegetarian, I'm just kind of like UHHHM, WELL. Because quite frankly, I think it just came together at this point, and I was just like VEGETARIAN. RIGHT DECISION FOR ME. It wasn't any big deciding factor or anything.
Guh.

Man, I wouldn't even know where to start with reasons why I'm vegetarian. Uh, the guilt over the insanely cruel treatment of intelligent, emotional animals; incredibly unhealthy, cholesterol-laden, cannibalized-and-antiobiotic-laden meat that my stomach is not built to digest the way a carnivore's is; lactose intolerance (which apparently 95% of people have to some extent, some number like that); the expense; disliking the taste of beef; etc. etc. etc. etc.
