Back in Beantown

I'm still sick, or perhaps still recovering. I struggled last week when I first felt symptoms mid-week and it really hit me while I was doing a video recording of a 3 hr panel discussion. Not good with my hearing going and the chills in the middle of the shoot. Laugh, yes, I was running a camcorder for work. We have 3 guys in my group who do production services and one was out for NAB and a patron was rather persistent to have a recording made of this event. We were already doing the sound system for the panel. Perhaps it was too much of a first project to get back into it. Sigh. Hard to believe I either ran around HS with either a camera or a camcorder. I feel so rusty.

Anyway, I'm back in Boston for a conference. Coincidentally, I'm in the area I was in just 7 months ago for another conference. I'm only here through Friday, but I'm really liking visiting this area. No problems taking the T in from the airport. Great public transportation system here, $2 T fare versus $30 cab fare. I have a 24hr Shaw's grocery store across the street and a walking bridge to the Prudential Shops Mall.

Part of me feels guilty for not calling Vince and Andrea, but I am still a little sick and my stay is a short one. I kind of want to stay in I think.

There's a Barnes & Noble nearby, I picked up "Lighting the Way: Nine Women Who Changed Modern America" by Karenna Gore Schiff for my Mothers' Book Bag Discussion Group. I'm half way through the first chapter and I'm looking forward to the rest of the book.

Although still congested, massive repeating headaches, sore throat and running nose; I'm enjoying this change in routine. Michael had travelled for 7 weeks in a row now. I got to take my time in a bookstore today and tonight, I went out at 10pm and casually shopped at Shaw's. Yes, it's just a grocery store. But it's a 24hr grocery store and I didn't have to rush through in 20 min. I even signed up for a Rewards Card for extra savings and added it to my Upromise account (there are codes out there for a bonus for new accounts btw). Gosh, I already have the following grocery stores in my account: Publix, Albertsons, Giant Eagle and Vons / Pavilion's. If my brother can collect snapshots of Costco's he visits, then I can collect grocery rewards cards. :) Hmm, I wonder if my grocery card for a store in Vancouver is still valid or is valid for Upromise?

I just finished my orange and I think I'll go through my material for tomorrow now.
