AeroGarden Update

I finally set up 1 unit on Saturday, put it on a folding wood table instead of the wall farm as we still need to purchase hardware to bolt it. I still need to figure out where I definitely want to put the units, they're really bright.

Here are some thumbnails of unpacking for assembly:

First out is the lamp post.

Then the base, bowl and lamp hood. The bowl is in the middle, upside down.

Underneath the base is a back-up watch/hearing-aid battery. This is only on the "older models." I thought I'd be getting a newer one but the serial number sticker does indicate "2006."

Underneath the lamp hood. I've read complaints that lamps with screw in socket attachments would have been preferred. But it's really compact there, and I prefer the compact design.

I got a kick out of the box-open-instructions for the lamps.

So in a day and a half, I see sprouts from the salad greens kit already.

And here's my set-up:

My point and shoot DiMage couldn't handle the lighting situation. I wound up putting my tray of tomato seedlings there since they've outgrown any of my shelf lighting set-ups. If they seem a bit leggy, I don't mind, I'll be transplanting them deep.
