Spring Weekend!
Saturday, we were supposed to meet Michael out near the airport when he arrived. But his flight kept getting delay and rescheduled. After the 3rd rescheduling, we agreed to not meet. Since we were mobile already, I took Jana to Soergel's Orchards. It worked out really well. We picked up some much needed produce plus some baked goods. Jana got a freebie "green train cookie," she was very specific. They have 2 trains running through the grocery store near the ceiling, maybe HO scale and between the cookie and the trains, I was able to shop easily.
Then we put the groceries in the car and headed for the barn. Ducks, cow, donkey, pig, sheep and goats greeted us. The pig kept burying himself into the hay and was darn entertaining. The ponies were out but for a private birthday party. Jana really wanted to crash that. I was then able to hit their garden center to pick up some root stimulator as I'm wanting to try to propogate some cuttings. So although Michael spent a good part of Saturday in an airport, I think I was able to make up for her not seeing her dad right away.
As soon as dad came home, she went nuts. They went out for a beer run, which turned into a tea and cheese puffs run for Jana. Michael still got his beer though. She was all smiles when she came home.
Sunday turned into a spring cleaning today. High of 69F. I'm accepting that I'm not good at cleaning windows. Streaks. Blah. Jana got to spend time outside in the sandbox I made for her last year and socialize with the neighbors. We were able to plant some carrots and lettuce plus I fed the beds with Plantea. As of yesterday, I counted 74 scapes of garlic. For her nap, Jana went upstairs to our room, went through her books and LeapPad on our bed and from it looked like, curled up on my pillow like a kitty would. It was cute. And it was the easiest time we had to get her to nap! We'll take that!
Today's high was predicted for 77F and I'm sure the kids got a lot of outside time today.
