Ok. So Sunday night, my MIL offered Jana a french fry, I nearly dove after it from across the table, "Noooo!" Michael and I said, "We're trying to not introduce her to certain fried foods." To which my MIL replied, "But she was going to take it." I was dumbfounded, "Well, yeah but she doesn't know." Then my MIL said, "All kids like fried foods."
All I could say was, "Right, so why start her off so early?"
Hmm, so I think what really upsets me:
* she didn't apologize
* she didn't ask first
* she acts like french fries are no big deal
* she acts like my concerns are meaningless
Gosh, how can I be denying Jana of fried potatoes when not only does she get oven baked potato wedges at home, but they've been home grown? I just have this feeling that the moment she tries a double-cooked deep fried potato, I'm doomed. You certainly can't have someone untaste something.
Really, for the most part, this trip is going well. I can be so particular about food, this is why this gets to me.
