Over the last couple of days, as Michael and I sip our drinks and look at our lawn and garden, we were commenting on how amazonian a lot of our plants seem to be growing. So this morning, I decided to go through my seed packets and read them again.
Wonder Light Tomato, TALL VINE (no kidding, this thing is already just over 5' and it's kind of shading other nightshade plants)
African Marigold, grows 2'-3' and becomes bushy. These plants are about 3' tall. It does seem odd when all of our neighbors who've planted marigolds have marigolds that are no taller than 6".
Ok, so I remember reading the packets. But it seems I didn't really process what they were saying. Sigh.
Oh, I sowed morning glory seeds from my neighbor. I counted 29 seeds. Again, how lame the kit is. It comes with a metal bucket that's probably about 5" and the instructions say to plant all the seeds in it? What's the deal, we they old seeds with poor viability or something? Eh, I sowed them in one of my 2 containers for sowing instead.
Here's a wild article,
Norway is building a seed doomsday vault to hold about 3 million seeds.
