Michael's Father's Day
Sunday AM: Michael still not feeling well, but then Jana brought us our shoes, ran to the door and said and signed, "Come." So out we went. To keep it simple (and air-conditioned) we went to Starbucks. Mayor Bob O'Connor came in for a cup himself and on his way out, he asked Jana if she'd share her passionfruit tea with him. She said, "No. Bye-bye." We smiled and told him, "Next time." At least she did it with a big smile and got a chuckle out of the Mayor.
Sunday PM: Dinner was at John Harvard's and we brought home 2 growlers. Informally had some neighbors hang out by Jana's pool and called up the Broderick's. It was really, really, nice. I think this may be the start of, "Happy Hour by Jana's pool every other Sunday, weather permitting."
Observations:
* Jana ate a super garlicy pasta dinner (lots of cloves of garlic were clearly viewable), Michael had a spicy meal, neither one of them had a single bug land on them. Me, I had crabcakes and I kept flicking bugs off.
NOTE: eat spicy or garlicy meal before hanging out outdoors in the evenings.
