Happy Father's Day!
Saturday morning, I had my scheduled haircut. Michael skipped on his appt because he doesn't like my stylist working on his hair anymore. I didn't have the heart to tell her so when we scheduled my next appt, we scheduled one for Michael too. Michael wants to switch to a guy at my salon, who works the same Sat morning shift as her, he's done Michael's hair before. How to tactfully do that?
On our way to Michael's car in the morning, we had the, um, most unique compliment we've ever received. A nicely dressed elder man in a suit, hat (like from the 60s) emerged from his BMW after parking to tell us, "You two should have more kids. This one's really got looks." As we pulled away, Michael laughed and said, "Would he provide nanny services?"
A little unusual, but something I wanted to make sure I had jotted down somewhere.
Then it was a speed shopping for me at Sears and then we made it to Home Depot before Red Lobster then home.
We were able to shop at Home Depot for an hour! I finally got to snag one of those racing car shopping carts with a steering wheel for kids. Jana loved it and kept yelling, "Go, go, go!" for the driver to push and go fast through the store. Michael had a blast pushing her as fast as reasonably possible. This permitted time for me to browse. :)
Observations:
* great places for shopping for active infant and toddlers clothes: KMart, Sears and Old Navy. The average price for clothes on clearance is $2.50-4.00 and the average price for clothes on sale is $4-8 each. I'd like to find nice clothes in that price range too. ;)
* lawn mower blades are sold with no edge, you really need a machine to take off a chunk of steel to sharpen them. Fortunately, there are attachments that you can purchase if you already own a dremel (which I do) to get the right angle while sharpening.
* in half the time it took my neighbor to spray round-up on her weeds, I would have had all her weeds pulled up. Whether you're an organic gardener or not, I guess efficiency isn't a factor for some people.
* another neighbor gave me a flower pot grow kit. She had 2, and the one she tried never germinated. These are so novelty. The pot is a small brightly painted metal pail with no drainage.
* what's the point of going to bed by 10am if I'm up in the middle of the night for 2 hrs and wake up late (8-9am) anyway?
