Organizers - that time of year!

Oh, what a relief!

I have been dependent on some sort of organizer for years now, gosh, 20 years? That was a bit of a daunting realization.

From my college organizer, to my first DayTimer (a lot of use out of that), then Palm, then a Covey binder (Covey users must love to carry stuff, binders alone weigh as much as my laptop). And for the past couple of years, I've been enjoying the use of my Rollabind.

Great little fella, portable and lightweight. I like the disc design, it helps keep the binder lightweight, yet it also is leather. So it's durable and looks appropriate for work. I was in a tad bit of a panic when I couldn't find any calendar refills, until I came across this blog post: My New Organizer

I found it inspiring and clever in her use of a Rollabind. I already own a puncher, as I do have some custom and blank pages I use it for. Of course, I wouldn't be a geek if I didn't also have my digital tools. I just got at work, an Epson scanner that is a competitor to the Fujitsu ScanSnap. I have the Fujitsu at home, so I wanted to try the Epson at the office. The idea is to scan my old calendar pages then recycle.

I also use "Remember The Milk" for those moments I don't have a paper and pen. I can use an app on the ipod or my Android phone or even on the web using my laptop. It all updates to one cloud.

So I still have my old-school of notetaking and calendaring, but it's tied into the world of zeros and ones. I just haven't found a way to go all digital, but that's okay. Sometimes, batteries shouldn't have to be included.
