I've been back in Las Vegas for
Infocomm this week. This has been our weather...
I'm not melting, I'm evaporating!
Otherwise, technical and project management sessions have been good, I'm staying at Treasure Island this time, very convenient access to Fashion Show Mall and a short walk to the Forum Shops at Caesars. I had dinner last night at Pho, Vietnamese Cuisine in my hotel, quite good.
Easily bumped into folks from Yale. Chance encounter with someone else from Carnegie Mellon on the exhibit floor. Never bumped into the one guy from my team, although I'm scheduled to meet him for lunch today.
Tuesday night, I found myself at FAO Schwartz. I became excitedly optimistic when I saw a toy stuffed meerkat, marmot (although I didn't think he looked anywhere close to one) and even a red blood cell. So when the very friendly but a bit cocky store helper offered to help me find something, I grinned and asked for a chinchilla. Boy, was he stumped. He stopped in his tracks, jaw dropped open and he only gazed at me. I cracked up, "I thought so." I browsed the entire store before leaving empty handed. It was fun at least.
