Michael was supposed to leave for business last Wednesday, but it got postponed to Monday. Then as of Friday, it changed to Sunday. We scheduled a haircut for Michael and Jana for Saturday, but at the last minute, Jana backed out. Then there's the chance Michael's trip gets unexpectedly extended. Last trip was only supposed to be for 4 days and he was away for 11.
Scheduling time outside of work has been tricky with Michael's work schedule being somewhat ad hoc. I think I'll be able to get 3 hrs of garden plot time in, but that's not much. I need to really figure out what to get accomplished.
The weather here has been really nice and very tempting to start to transplant. My biggest seedlings currently are peppers, zinnias and two marigolds. My tomatoes are off schedule and are still small, but I'd have more comfort transplanting those this early. I want to take a chance on planting some corn seeds since that bed is pretty much ready to be occupied. Same goes with some beans.
There are some days of rain coming up and I like to transplant just before it's scheduled to rain. And I like to do seeds after a rain. Speaking of seeds, High Mowing Seeds has a current free shipping in April offer, I couldn't help myself and put in an order (it arrived yesterday). Baby Pam pumpkins, flowers, and a salad seed mix in a shaker bottle.
I need a post hole digger to get the door frame built for the fence/gate. I am looking for one to borrow, I need to stop thinking of my dad's sitting in the garage back in CA.
Maybe today will be:
* prep some beds for transplanting next weekend (or at least after Tuesday night)
* cut PVC pipes and points into 2 of the 2"x4"x8' posts for the gate frame
* gradually raise the fence 6"
* weed
* transplant marigold into a 3'x3' box
* figure out where the tomato beds are going to be
* REMEMBER TO BRING A LEVEL AND TWINE (I hate I keep forgetting these)
