Yesterday morning, Jana had her annual appointment with her specialist at 10am. My biggest concern was that Obama was in town visiting the University of Pittsburgh area at 11am and our doctor is part of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), and I didn't know if there would be a traffic impact for us. Fortunately, the impact was lighter than I expected.
The biggest funny was when we signed in, they gave me a cup and ask for her to fill it. I turned to my 3.5 yo and said, "They want you to pee in this cup." That was definitely a Kodak moment for the look on her face. LOL
Jana's never been into doctors, mostly stemming from the barrage of tests and appointments around 12mos to 18 mos and the surgery at 14mos. So her anxiety level gets ridiculous in waiting rooms. Nevermind the breakdown sitting in an examination room. At least for these visits, it's just an ultrasound. Her doctor is wonderful and has an awesome Donald Duck impression. That impression finally meant something to her this time! I got to ask her, "Is your doctor a duck?" "Noooo." :)
She had no problems asking for a lollipop and Go, Diego, Go stickers, she hollered big, "thank you" and said, "Let's go to school now, mommy. No more doctor."
When she spoke with her dad on the phone last night, she told Michael, "My doctor thinks he's a duck!"
