Thank you, Alison, for your power cord - I have retrieved my pictures and couldn't be happier =) I'll probably post some on FB when I get home tonight, cuz that's how I roll. Now, if only I could accomplish the same tasks on the computers that Erik took with him...
I don't know why, but I have been super drowsy this week. I think it's the weather.
Something interesting I learned recently: I have an aunt and a cousin I never knew about before. Apparently, my mom has an older half-sister, from my grandma, before she and grandpa were married. Her name is Kay. She has a daughter named Allison. I don't know how long my mom has known about them, but apparently it's news to most of the family. I don't know if grandpa ever knew about them. Apparently grandma and Kay have been in touch for a few years, though... I'm assuming she was put up for adoption at birth or something... but yeah. It's weird. What's weirder is that I'm not really surprised. I mean, it's unexpected for sure, but my reaction to it was "Oh. ok." So yeah. Mom and I are going up to CT in April to meet Kay. Allison won't be there... I don't know where Kay lives, but she'll be in DC on business I guess and is going to hit CT while she's in the area, to meet the family. It will be interesting.
Let's see, what else can I write about?
Had a pretty busy weekend. Mandatory meeting at BHV on Saturday, followed by Stone Mountain with Spiffy and the pups. Sat night was Stephen's (joint) surprise bday party (with his best friend Scott) so we picked up the cake for Stephanie since she wouldn't have been able to slip it past him. The party was at Dave and Buster's, which was awesome. I had never been there before, but it was really fun.
Sunday was Brian's dad's birthday party, so we drove to Athens for that. It was also very fun. And there were cookies. Brian's dad owns like, 4 acres of land that stretches over a marshy area. We explored in the woods and Martha found a deer skull and what appeared to be a tibia, or maybe a humerus, and I caught a very small frog whom I named Burtrop. Most of the day was spent attempting to entertain Brian's niece, Eryn, who is 3 and quite insatiable when it comes to entertainment. I ended up having to take a nap to recuperate.
After we left Brian's dad's we met up with some of his Athens pals for a bit, and then I left Brian behind and drove Martha home. Brian spent the night with Bryan in Athens b/c he was supposed to meet with his adviser Monday morning, but she canceled the appt at the last minute due to a family emergency or something. Bryan drove Brian home Monday, since he was spending this week in town. They had a manly slumber party last night, and we watched Project Runway (very manly, indeed.) Chris got eliminated. I hate that show now =(
Hung out with cat Kyle Tues night; it was nice to catch up. Hoping to hang out with J-Piddy and Travys this Saturday since I'm not scheduled to work that day.
And that's all I have. <3
