Legend?

So, I want to see I am Legend, but I am afraid that something bad is going to happen to the dog and upset me. Yes, I know how silly that is, but I just can't handle animal violence in movies (or real life, of course.) That's why I have never been able to finish Dances with Wolves. Not that that's a huge loss I guess.

ANYWAY, if any of you have seen I am Legend, can you just tell me - without giving away anything - whether or not I should see it, based solely on the fate of the dog? Please? I love you <3
