i woke up at 6:40am, took a shower and decided not to go back to sleep. we have to start packing up the cats for adoptions in an hour, so what's the point? adoptions are at 2 different locations today so erik and i will be splitting up =( hopefully we'll have some luck though.

Aw,it sounds like your mom does care, she just doesn't know how to express it. She probably didn't think much about the dangers until she mentioned your trip to Beverley and she told your mom about some of what they don't talk about on the news. People are weird, so I don't know all your mom's reasons for getting Bev to talk to you instead of her doing it herself, but she probably thought Bev would be more convincing since she has more knowledge about the situation. I don't think anyone is too thrilled about you going on this trip, but we know you're stubborn and there's no way we could talk you out of it ( ... )

Oh, I know she's crazy. But that doesn't mean she doesn't care at all about Ali's well-being and safety.

i heart you jacquie. and youre right, she does care, shes just not very good at being motherly so she has no clue whatsoever how to express it.

I for one think it'll be a great experience. Seems like a bona-fide adventure if you ponder it enough. It's one of the worst natural catasrophes in recent history, and you'll get to see a bit of it to tell the grandkids (or someone else's grandkids, eh?). Anyway, I think it's a great cause and I'm very happy for you that you get to do this. Good luck! And I really need to come over and watch Soap before you leave...
