I got accepted!!!!!
I will be volunteering with Alley Cat Allies from November 19th-28th in some demolished podunk Louisiana town.
I am so excited/nervous/terrified/ecstatic/aprehensive.
Just reviewing the list of personal items I'm required to bring (bite-proof gloves, mosquito netting, waders, surgical masks, pepper spray, etc) makes me nervous. This is such a huge deal to me, I can't express it. It's just what I wanted to do. I hope I can handle it.
I will have my cell phone with me, but there aren't cell towers where I'm going so you won't be able to get in touch with me. I don't think cameras are allowed either, since the whole operation seems pretty confidential, and even so, I don't think they would like it if I took a bunch of pictures of everything like it was a vacation or something. But I know once I get back it's all I'll be talking about for a while, so be prepared.
