Well my first week of college is DONE! Wow, that was the longest week ever; seriously, it seems like it's been three weeks since Monday. Anyway, it's over now, so I will tell all.
I'm really glad I only have band on M, W, and F because it's so hot outside-- or at least when you're outside scooting around the Sun Bowl. It was so nice and cloudy on M and W, but it was absolute misery today. Oh well-- at least we finished the show today.
Tuesday and Thursday kind of stink because I have really long breaks in the afternoon where I have to go find a quiet place to read or do homework (yes, I already have tons of homework-- will elaborate later), and I have to stay 'till 5:50.
I hate my University Studies class; it's just a pointless money sucker that's supposed to teach you how to be a college student. Who thinks of these things!? Leftists do. I think. To top it all off, the teacher is stupid a la Turner. You know what I mean.
But I absolutely LOVE my English class! Which is really a good thing, considering that's my major. It's taught by this older woman named Leach, and she seems so learned. On the first day, she asked us all individually whether we had read Beowulf in high school and what our favorite book was. Then we discussed what set literature apart from other writings; she said literature holds a quality that moves the reader and therefore is timeless. Isn't that great? Downside: I have to read all of Beowulf by Tuesday. Urgh.
Sorry about that nerdy rant.
I went to Eastwood's dress rehearsal on Wednesday night. It was so lovely to see so many familiar faces again (Skasha, Monikeeter, Eric, Kirky, and Daniel). It was so weird watching everything from the stands, and even weirder to clap durring the fight song. I must say, though, I was quite impressed by the band's progress. I heard Mr. Andrade wasn't though. Oh well. I though it was lovely, lovely, lovely.
My complaint of the week: Who's bright idea was it to build the UTEP campus on a freakin' mountain? I hate walking all over that place. I mean, I didn't even make it to the gym this week, but I lost two pounds, and my legs are sore and burning like brownies in Satan's easy bake oven (copyright Kirk). And stairs! I hate them. Why can't I have any classes on first floors?
Trivial Worry of the Week: I ate a burrito on Wednesday for lunch, and the whole time I was eating it, "Freshman 15" was bouncing around inside my head. It was good though. Then I ate Bonny's today. I shared a burrito with Jesse and finished my half, while he didn't. I called him a wimp... then those words started their bouncing again. Urgh.
I have too much homework. Too much. It's only the first week. I guess I'd better get to it, before I have to leave to the movies. This stinks; I'm doing homework on a Friday.
What a week. You have no idea.
I'm going to go see my grandma this weekend.
Ta.
