I desperately wish it was winter. Or that I could migrate to San Diego during these oppressively hot El Paso summers. I'm almost thoroughly miserable when I walk out my front door and am greeted my a scorching breeze-- if you can call it a breeze. (Doesn't that word imply something cool and refreshing? Or something?) When it gets cool enough to wear a sweater outside, I enjoy walks and car rides with the windows down. I love sleeping with my bedroom window open so that I wake up at night, nearly frozen; when it gets to be hot again, I can vividly recall the sensation of being chilled to the bone. For some reason, it is very pleasant to me. Besides that, I hate summer because I hate sweating. I wish I could get some of my sweat glands surgically removed. I also hear injecting botox in strategic places will temporarily dissable them; that could get expensive, though. Oh well, I'm allowed to dream, yes?
19 Days 'Till HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF- BLOOD PRINCE!!!! (can't wait...)
One thing I do like about the summer is Music under the Stars. Though I absolutely despise crowds, I enjoy the atmosphere. Nothing like sitting on a blanket and eating three blades of grass every time you lose a game of spoons. I'm actually going there tonight. I don't really know who's playing, but that's irrelivant; I dont' go for the music.
I stayed up 'till four this morning because I was finishing my book. It was called "Battle Royale". It's got an enticing premise: in Japan, a class of middle school students are confined to an island in a government experiment where they are armed and told to kill one another, (last one standing is the winner). It's quite greusome, but it is more than just action; some parts brought me to the brink of tears. It also gave me weird dreams. I had one a few weeks ago where I was put into the same situation, and me and the Gabe teamed up because we both had guns. The dream then poceeded in a Haloesque, hunt or be hunting kind of thing. We even had the same weapons as in Halo. I kept on telling the Gabe, "Look at the carnage I have wreaked upon them!" Don't worry anyone; I would never do such a thing. I thought the dream was funny. A Halo/Battle Royale dream. Man, I'm a nerd. Or a geek. Is there a difference?
Speaking of Halo, I did something utterly disgusting yesterday. I played Halo with Ceci and Abraham for 6.5 hours straight. It didn't even feel like it. It was fun, nevertheless.
Well, I must go dry my hair and eat some cheese. Ta!
