He actually did a little bit better with Koopa. He won the 16 track thing, but that was only because of some uber bullshit from the computer. On TWO of the races (Shy Guy and MooMoo, if I remember right), I had this gigantic lead through all of it, and then it'd get to the last half of the 3rd lap, and be nailed with enough back-to-back blue shells to close the gap. Then it'd let me get close to the line, and they'd plow me with red shells so he and five (or three) others could pass me. Fucking cheats.
Um...Brother Odd (the first I read of his) was.... readable, but little else. I think most of his goodness is in the ones they choose to compile into a giant three-in-one. Shattered-Wispers-Dreamers was pretty good.... Wispers (I think. MAY have been Shattered) was the best; it seemed like it was going to be a supernatural thing, but at the end they explained everything, and the way they did.... It actually could happen, and I find that somewhat frightening. I can't remember the "trilogy" (they don't go hand in hand at all, that I've found) I'm on right now. I've just finished the first one (Twilight something, or something Twilight. I forget), which I think actually ranks as the best book I've read in a while. It's about this totally nutso religious fanatic going after the Antichrist, who is a 6-year-old boy. So she thinks. Once I'm done with the other two (if they're like that one, it shouldn't take me long), you can borrow them if you like. I think you'd like the Twilight one.

D'you know if it costs to borrow books from a library? Pretty much all of our funds are limited to bills, food, and savings (stupid cat) right now, and I've almost cleared my shelves of stuff I haven't read. If I DO get accepted to Paul Mitchell, I'm going to have to splurge on some more makeup (apart from being all black, their dress code is pretty dressy; I refuse to be the only one not wearing a mask.), so I'm totally out of books-for-fun money.
