2-9 BONUSGATE - Defendant Twitter's

The judge in the corruption trial of a former Pennsylvania lawmaker and three of his one-time aides is preventing defendants from posting daytime Internet updates through Twitter, blogs or e-mail.

Dauphin County Judge Richard Lewis imposed the restriction Monday, and also ordered witnesses not to discuss their testimony with other witnesses.

He did so after lawyers for former Beaver County Rep. Mike Veon complained that the first prosecution witness had discussed the case with his wife.

She's a potential witness in the trial that began a week ago.

Defendant Stephen Keefer has posted messages on Twitter about the case.

Veon and the others are charged with diverting state resources to wage political campaigns. The trial is expected to last several more weeks.
