So I sort of feel like I'm eating, living, dreaming and eating Nihongo lately. It's probably because I talk to Narumi tachi way more than I ever really talked to my Nagoya host family. Today we randomly brought Amika-chan with us to the bookstore. When I was there I had to laugh! What a weird-looking family! Haha. Amika-chan's dad is from Jamaica, but she doesn't speak a word of English. The first time I met her I was confused and said, "Oh, hi!" in English, and she just looked at me funny. I guess her Dad didn't want to live in Japan anymore and went back to Jamaica. I'm not really sure of the details. Neither is Narumi, but she filled me in on what she knows. So I guess Amika-chan lives with her mother and hangs out with her grandmother and grandfather all the time, and they live right near by. Amika-chan is here so much she and Kanto are kind of like siblings. *lol* She's cute.
Anyway, when I was at the book store I bought three JLPT language prep books. (For the NEW JLPT) and so if I do two pages in each book per day, then I'll have finished the books in two months and be ready for the JLPT in July. I have to head to Sapporo-eki area to go to Kinokuniya and get whatever paper it is that I need to register for the test itself. I will probably try to go tomorrow.
Obaa-chan (Narumi's Mom) gave Kanto 100 yen (about a dollar), Amika 100 yen, and me 500 yen. XD I tried to refuse it, but she insisted and told me to buy lunch at school with it! Aww. <3 She's so adorable. Although the cold that everyone in the house caught even she caught, so we're all still sick and it's rather miserable.
I've almost finished "The Hour I First Believed" by Wally Lamb. I'm going to be sad when I've run out of english language books to read. I still have one more, wait, I have three more. I guess I'll be good for a while. *lol* But the others aren't 700 pages long, so I'll probably burn through them faster.
Uhm...I didn't really do much this weekend. I took a walk to the shoe store yesterday and kind of laughed at all the cute shoes that I couldn't fit into. ;_; I wish I could buy even a pair of boys shoes! My shoes that I have now have given me this weird blister on the ball of one of my feet. It's weird, and it sucks because I have to walk 30 minutes from the station to the school and then walk from the school to the station each day, and when you have a large blister, it kind of hurts.
So, my Japanese has been kind of sucky. I went into the other room next to mine with Narumi (they're going to be making it into a library of sorts) and she pointed out an interesting manga for me to read. I said, "Oh, Ka no shima?" She was like, "Uh..no...hi no tori...you know a phoenix." I felt super dumb. Not only are they super easy kanji....but I should have been able to get it. *lol*
Narumi made sandwiches for lunch because she asked what we usually ate for lunch at home, and then she went and bought Frosted Flakes for breakfast. Awww. She's making me feel loved. :D I got a cute lamp and some new curtains from Midori-san! My room looks nice and spruced up! :D
Anyway, I have stupid class tomorrow at 9am, so I've got to leave the house before 7:30 to make sure I get there on time. I guess I should think about heading to bed. Old man sleep schedule...GO!
