I've always wanted to go to India. XD; True facts. I also have a not-so secret desire to learn Hindi. So while I was perusing a bulletin board in Bartlett, I saw a sign for a winter month exchange program to India to study Tibetan Buddhism with exiled Tibetan Monks.

It's kind of awesome. I'm taking Prof. Miller's Japanese Buddhism and Literary Arts class now, and I'd sort of like to get a feel of Buddhism from other Asian culture's perspectives. It only costs $2200 and it INCLUDES air travel. (Which I just looks up and costs like $1200 on its own.)
I sort of feel like I HAVE to do it now. 8D What I'm going to do is go to the info session tonight, I think. :D Worst that happens is that I decide it's not for me. This would be a perfect way for me to go to India and not have to worry about going all by myself without knowing the language. Doing that scares the crap out of me. (Doesn't that seem funny, though? I did it in Mexico and to a certain extent in Japan...but still!)
*lol* It's funny how the idea of travel can lift my spirits so intensely. XD; So I think I'll go to the talk tonight and see what it's about, and then in the interim I shall get some homework done ahead of time. *flexes productive muscles*
I stayed up until about 2:30am in the library working on poems for my class. I probably got like four hours of sleep and I wasn't grumpy this morning. Hmm...wonder why.
Oh yeah, I start my job at Moe's on Saturday. I'm not sure if it is anything besides general administrative/filling out tax form stuff, but I'm excited. ^-^ Speaking of jobs, I need to contact Betsey about that.....
And I also need to get my independent study squared away. Psssh. And drop that Econ class. Meh. I'll work on that today.
Lately I've been getting all natsukashii for Japan. And thinking about applying for JET as a CIR and hoping against hope that I get that job. I WANT IT~~~~. I guess I'd take an ALT job, but I really want the CIR job. Speaking of which, I need to work on getting stuff together to study for the JLPT.
Oh, I randomly met two of the Japanese teachers yesterday. Yoshimura-sensei and....I forgot the other one. XD; But I knocked on Yoshimura-sensei's door and was like, 前に会ってないけれども、ご挨拶のために参りました。She seemed really nice, so I'm glad that I went to meet her. I hope I'll see her around.
Anyway~gotta get ready for my next class.
