...EDGAR, WHY????
So last night I was just chillin' on my bed, chatting online and refreshing my friends page when suddenly, my laptop Edgar just shut off. I thought maybe he had overheated and I thought nothing of it. I placed him on my table and went into the other room to clean up after dinner.
I came back, and....there was still no sign of life. No matter how I pressed his power switch, he wouldn't turn on! So I talked with Sky and she suggested pulling the battery out and running it on AC power. That actually worked (after I managed to pry the battery out, that is...) and I downloaded some anti-virus software to use thinking that it was about time that I gave him a good cleaning......
Yeah, so the anti-virus software ran in like this DOS-like thing, and it took about an hour and a half to complete, at which time I was getting sleepy and was dozing on my bed waiting for it to finish.
So....I deleted a trojan that was in a Windows file after it asked me if I was SURE that I wanted to do that.
Anyway, long story short, I turn ol' Edgar on now and he will get to the log-in page. When I click on my username....it will log me in and then right back out again. I can't actually log into the computer. .....So......Edgar has probably bit the dust. I'm going to call HP tonight and see if there is anyway to restore him without like, totally wiping him or something. ;~;
(It's funny, just a few days ago I was thinking that I should back up my files....*fail*)
Yeah...so...that's me. Computerless and at the library right now. We'll see how this works out. -_____-;
