Update from Baltimore

It's still an odd life, being on tour. I went to a goth night in Baltimore last night. One of my coworkers lives in town, and she talked it up quite a bit. So I walked, about a mile from the hotel, through the somewhat frightening nighttime downtown to a fairly quiet residential neighbourhood that happens to have a small club in the middle of it.

At first, I wasn't terribly impressed. The dance floor was tiny- maybe twelve by fifteen, and there were fewer than twenty people there. However, I did strike up a conversation with an attractive young lady, who turned out to be quite a bit younger than I thought at first. The fact that her friends all had x's on their hands should have been a clue. But she was entertaining, and cute, and introduced me to a good Tom Waits song I hadn't heard before.

I also had a good chat with the lady at the door, and her Oregonian DJ husband. I ended up closing out the bar with them, hanging out with the two of them, the other DJ, and the bartender after closing for a while. A decent conversation, a convenient lift back to the hotel, and a new lj friend. So, all in all, time well spent.
