Kool-Aid is tasty!

I got a dozen pings today from Facebook. I'd been meaning to check it out for a while, but that seemed kind of ridiculous. It's... interesting. I found some people I haven't encountered in years, and have been looking for. I also found people I haven't encountered in years and really have not been looking for.
I was unfortunately unable to find a couple of people I have been trying to find for a long time.

Ah, well.

Other than that, I'm in Houston, not doing much other than work and catching up on t.v. I had a good time in Ft. Worth for a couple of days. Hade a pseudo date with an exceedingly mature and attractive 20 year old. Yes, folks, I've still got it. Went to a hookah bar for the first time, which was quite nifty. Very mellow buzz. Interesting story for this chick. Born with Lyme's disease, misdiagnosed for years, contracted encephalitis as a child, takes care of her mother who was greatly impaired by the illness, a father who's in New York working as an art handler for most of the year. Quite cool. So very much wanted things. Got a lovely kiss out of it, which was fantastic.

Then Minneapolis before that, for an unseasonably warm week in late October. Much time spent with trista, which is a good thing. Halloween was quite the wild time in downtown Minnie, made more so with the (comparative) warmth. We spent most of the night just wandering the streets, people watching.

Previously, I was in Austin for a wedding and to see friends. I did not, in fact, jump out of a perfectly good plane, unfortunately. That whole plan fell through due to a series of complicated events.

Still, it was a lovely wedding. I just wish I didn't have this thing about wedding gowns. I nearly suppressed all reaction, until the end, when I got muchly distracted. It was a combination unitarian/catholic wedding, which was interesting in and of itself, with a little mingled sand ritual which I found fascinating. During it, I though about the logistics of a poly wedding. Four wouldn't be terribly difficult, especially if it were fully integrated. Three, however, that one's tough, whether it's a triangle or a vee. Any thoughts on that, friendbots?

I met a bunch of vets, being that most of the bride and groom's friends after high school were made at school. Many conversations about repro work and palpation in large animals. Most of them were gross. At least two of them were interested in me. Neither were inclouded in the group of women I was interested in, but c'est la vie. It was still a wonderful time seeing old friends, meeting new ones, and flirting with them.

Before that, it gets hazy. Oh, yes- in Seattle with the show, hanging out with randomphoenix, which was fantastic both because of and in spite of the romantic/sexual tension there. Kind of delicious, that point in the relationship, don't you think? And there's every indication that there won't be any kind of a resolution in the near future. I also met cerafaery for the first time, after hearing about her for ages. She was as interesting and nifty as I had been led to believe. I did, however, get the vague impression that she disapproved of me somehow. Not sure if that's true at all, or why it would be the case, but there you go.

Anyway, that's a precis of the past month. Oh, and also, yay Obama!
