happy pre-thanksgiving!
so, in my last entry, i was all like "omg the game plan for the week is awesome!"
well, it didn't happen. i managed to get a cold, and in fear of my mom, decided i should bail on all happy hours for the week to try and sleep and get better. dana's daughter also got sick, and jess had lots of work to do, so the semi-team reunion was post-poned till january. but that in no way meant i had a terrible weekend. i ended up having a fantastic weekend!
friday night, i was gonna stay home (to continue the whole "getting better" thing). but vidhya and em wanted to go to admo, and sketchy was coming into town and the boys were going to admo, and even ben was letting himself out of his self-imposed LSAT-studying prison for the evening. so i kinda "had" to go out. and im glad i did. i drove up to bethesda and picked up em, then we went over to vid's apartment and started a little bit of pre-gaming. i have no idea why we couldn't figure out how to make soco and lime shots (apparently it might not be just "soco" and "lime"), but we had a fun time hanging out together, as usual. then we headed to the metro, and finally got to our long-lost bar, grand central. it had been a while since we'd last been in admo, and it was nice to kno that it hadn't changed much. we started out with some rounds of shots, and stood around talking until i suddenly got grabbed from behind and my eyes covered. normal people probly would've cried at this point, but if you're me, you realize this can only mean one thing: sketchy's standing behind you. sure enough, the boys had arrived. god i love them. i somehow hadn't really hung out with them since homecoming (and hadn't seen sketchy since kim's bday in june!), so i was really excited to see them. more rounds-of-shots and talking later (including talking to some randoms who were pissed we wouldn't talk to them, leading one to go "you let motorcycle jacket all up ons!" which was awesome, b/c jolly was wearing the jacket), we finally jumped into some cabs and headed to the red derby, a new bar over by the boys' house. the bar was awesome, really the opposite of grand central--grand central is loud and crowded and more club-like, and red derby was quieter and more low-key and you could sit at a table and talk. both are awesome haha. so after a bit of that, we all headed back to the boys' house, and crashed there for the night.
woke up saturday when i heard ben and tay talking upstairs, so i climbed off the couch and went to join them. as people woke up, they also joined us, and soon enough, we were all in tay's room, watching his screen saver (which was a slideshow of all the pics on his computer). reminiscing was so fun haha. we eventually all decided to head to someplace in logan circle for brunch, and ended up splitting into 2 groups to eat: the girls (em, vidhya, and sketchy's friend em), and then me, jolly, tay and sketchy (of course). i dunno what was wrong with me, but i somehow went retarded and could not function at all haha. after brunch, most of us headed to the metro, where we went back to bethesda, picked up my car, and i drove home, finally making it home around 2:45pm.
i took a nap, then got up and got ready for elizabeth's party. made it there by 9:30 (note: i spent less than 7 hours in my apt), and had a good time with her and her roommates and their friends, playing some crazy dice game chris knew about. then we moved to beer pong, and finally to flip cup, before my boys FINALLY figured out how to get there and joined us in some WM vs Penn State pong. what was funny about that is we neglected to inform the PSU kids that 4 of our 6 teammates were members of the DCKickball Fall 2007 Flip Cup League Championship kickball team. oops. we obvs kicked ass, which was awesome, b/c they were really, really surprised to be beaten at flip cup by WMers haha. yay tribe pride! (sorry mandi haha). after that, it was back to more beer pong, then a game of kings that was pretty funny. after that, me and the boys headed over to their house, and chilled for a bit before resuming our spots on the couches haha. woke up sun morning and decided id hang out "for a little bit" ... which turned into a day-long event of "not leaving the couch except for dinner", watching lots and lots of TV curled up on the couch with my boys, before FINALLY leaving around midnight (getting home at 12:30am ... so yeah, i was officially home in my apt for like, 7 hrs all weekend haha).
it was really, really a fantastic weekend--so fun and relaxing and low-key, it just made me really, really happy : ) so im hoping that carries over into thanksgiving, since we kno how my home trips can be ... im leaving work early today to go nap, then pack and head into ballston for becca's "back in VA for the week" happy hour, then leaving for jersey at 8 or 9, as soon as rush hour traffic starts to end. then im back in nova on sat night, and i think we're doing a kball reunion special, since kir, anna, victoria and a couple others will be back in town too. we'll see : ) happy thanksgiving, LJ audience!
