*gasp* An update

Damn, remember when people used to update this thing almost daily? :-O

Not much going on lately to write about though. 7/12 tutorials/assessments done in my writing diploma. Work is just as crappy as usual. As of the 28/2 Marlowe is a yearling (although still not that much bigger from when I got him). Throughout this week I'll heading to the Met to get a form, fill it out and then hand it in so I can apply for a proper journalism course. Got to hang out with Emmy for a while on Sunday. :)

On Monday night I tried updating the firmware on my iPhone so I could update some apps and download some new ones but as the USB power output on my PC is pretty bad it can't handle my wireless adaptor and anything else at the same time. Wasn't an issue in my old flat as I used ethernet but there's no choice but to use wireless here. So the update crashes half way through and I need to restore my phone except when I try to restore it iTunes doesn't recognise the phone is connected long enough for it to complete. Stayed up until about 3am that night trying different ways to resolve it but kept hitting dead ends.

Last night I even tried moving the tower unit into the living room so I could connect to the router via ethenet (I have to be able to connect to the net while updating the phone as iTunes has to connect to their servers to check for software updates before it can do a restore). I also had to use the big TV as a monitor. Stayed up to about 4am trying to sort this out without any joy. At this point I'm forced to give up and decide to take it into our store in work so the can fix it. As my phone is also my alarm in the mornings though I slept in so I was an hour late today. I was using a little alarm program I downloaded onto my PC but it didn't work properly.

Got into work today and spent 20 minutes in the store waiting to be seen to and then waiting for their PC's to load up only for the store manager to tell me that they no longer have access to iTunes there and recommending that I go to the Apple store instead. Eventually ended up getting the damn thing restored by installing iTunes onto one of our sandpit laptops but spent the remainder of my lunch hour doing so. Now I can actually use my phone again but apart from my music and backed up apps everything else on my phone is gone.

So... long story, short I need everyone's numbers again (comments are screened) and I should probably use my bonus/savings to invest in a new computer soon. ¬.¬
