Yuletide Recs, Part One
Yeah, there will definitely be more of these. So much to read, omg!
Charlotte Bronte- Jane Eyre:
Mission by Anonymous- Jane Eyre, AU. Jane goes with St. John to India. Beautiful piece.
C.S. Lewis- Chronicles of Narnia:
No One Is Ever Told What Would Have Happened by Anonymous- Lucy. This won't make much sense if you haven't read the one with just Edmund and Lucy and Caspian and Eustace (I think that's his name). I am failing at life currently and can't remember the name of it.
Queen of Morning by Anonymous- Susan. I love how it's not just one part of Susan's life, but all of it.
A Good Queen by Anonymous- Lucy, Tumnus. Aww, I love their conversation. It definitely makes sense to me that Lucy would be missing England.
Cry for Yesterday by Anonymous- Lucy, Edmund, Susan. Oh, the bit at the end about Susan- I never thought of her shunning Narnia that way before. I like it a lot better than other interpretations I've seen.
The Lost Heir by Anonymous- Edmund, Lucy/Tumnus. Oh, I love this idea. I'm not a huge Lucy/Tumnus fan, but this works.
Dexter:
Women Are Wicked When They're Unwanted by Anonymous- Dexter, Deb. AU. Wow. Love the ending of this.
Fairy Tales:
Run Wild- Fairy Tales. The Beauty and the Beast. Belle comes to realize something after she gets her prince. Nice. I always liked the Beast a lot better too.
What the Pea Proved- Fairy Tales. A mix of The Princess and the Pea and Rapunzel. Really cool. I never really liked The Princess and the Pea anyway.
Gosford Park:
The Servants' Ball by Anonymous- Gosford Park, Mary, Robert. Oh, I kind of wish this could have been in the movie. I would have left it feeling much more satisfied, really.
Gossip Girl:
The Kind of Christmas That Doesn't End in "Party" by Anonymous- Serena/Blair-ish. Love the format and idea of this fic. Very cute and perfect.
Greek/Roman Mythology / Homer- The Odyssey:
Spider's Web by Anonymous- Greek Mythology, Penelope/Odysseus. Wow, I actually like Odysseus in this fic. Story about how the two of them actually got together. Love it.
Seeds by Anonymous- Persephone/Hades. I love this twist on the story. Over the past couple years Yuletide has kind of made me fall in love with this pairing. :)
Ionic, Doric, Corinthian, Agony by Anonymous- Aphrodite/Ares, R. Oh wow, this is spectacular. And I don't like either of them generally.
Roswell:
Ablaze by Anonymous- Michael/Liz. Oh. Hi, secritRoswellOTP! How are you doing these days? This fic is so perfectly fitting to this pairing and the end especially. *hearts it*
Runaways (comic):
The Teenage Queen, the Loaded Gun by Anonymous- Runaways, Chase/Gert. *sigh* I love this pairing. People really should write more Runaways fic.
Wonderfalls:
Jesus Complex by Anonymous- Wonderfalls, Jaye, OMC. Hee, fun little look at Jaye "institutionalized."
X-Men RPS:
People Will Say by Anonymous- X-Men RPS, Hugh Jackman/James Marsden, Hugh Jackman/Shawn Ashmore. Um. *dies and goes to heaven* This is the kind of RPS I want to read, people. Seriously, amazing.
