I enjoyed my time working up in Tipperary, they are a good bunch of people up there. It's a wonderful feeling to teach someone something and see their face light up with understanding. That happened to me a few time over the few days. I suppose I should mention that I was teaching people how to navigate on mountains using a map and compass. It can be a bit tricky to grasp if you're new to it, but the group did very well. Sometimes I think I underestimate peoples intelligence, in general. I could reword that to sometimes I forget that the human race is actually intelligent. Wow that sound even more condescending than the first sentence. Perhaps I should delete it but I won',t I'll leave it in there to laugh back over in years to come. I didn't intend for it to sound that way and since my brain seems to be unable to word what i'm trying to say I shall move on before i dig myself into an even bigger hole.
Yesterday was my first full day back in Glenbeigh in about two weeks. Needless to say the house was rather manky. I spent nearly the whole day cleaning it. It's all sparkling now. Liam surprised me on Wednesday by mentioning that his parents were coming over last night. So the place really did need to be cleaned up. It's a really nice feeling to hop into bed a night knowing that the house is clean, with clean covers and pj's and towels. Well I love it anyway.
Today i'm off shopping for food. The kitchen is rather lacking in anything edible. It'a a miserable day. It's been raining all morning so shopping really won't be that bad. I'll stay nice and dry in the car and then nice and dry in the shops. There is a raft race on in Killorglin this evening, i'll go along and watch that. My real motivation to go along is to collect Liam, since he's part of the safety.
Right to the shops.
