weekend in dots

Things done this weekend:

~ eaten pizza at my favourite pizza place, met some more of Sasha's work peeps.

~ excursion to Marrickville to bank some long overdue cheques. Woo. Want to go there more often. It's bustling and fun, in a different way to King St. Fewer hipsters, more diversity, particularly age-wise.

~ partied it up 1940s old-world style. Felt like I was on a movie set at times. Men in suits and vests and braces and hats and fez. Nice. Sipped wine and then whisky and then cognac and even puffed on a pipe. Met some splendid chaps and ladies. Jolly good fun.

~ Lunched at Buzzzbar. Always nice there. :)

~ Bought a gorgeous skirt in a new shop on King St! It's made from beautiful Japanese fabric and will probably make up half of my graduation outfit. (Ah-ha, it's a sales-outlet of this place: Nobue! It opened two days ago. I'll definitely be back.)

~ Read some of the weekend papers. Excited and inspired by two articles in particular, both of which overlap nicely with my theses on feminism and body hair removal. This one about a new novel called Wetlands. And a piece by Mia Freedman in the Good Weekend (can't find a link to it for some reason?) about the complexities of living her feminism and raising her young daughter. Interesting stuff.

Now it's Sunday afternoon and I'm trying to decide what to do with the rest of the weekend. Housework or lazing or something fun or creative.... [ponder]
