muesli recipe

500g rolled oats
125g bran thingies (like All Bran)
packet of slivered almonds
packet of pecans
chopped dried apple
125ml maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla essence
a cup or two of puffed millet

Preheat oven 180 degrees
Mix together the oats, bran, nuts and apple. (you can add any kind of nuts/fruit)
Heat maple syrup and vanilla essence briefly over stove or in microwave (makes it go runny)
Stir syrup into the oat mixture
Spread onto two lined baking trays
Bake for approximately 20 minutes, stirring often.

It's ready when the nuts look toasted and it smells delicious.

I like to add the puffed millet at the end, to lighten it up a bit (and make it go further) - and because it's a good source of protein.
