David Garza just put up a new EP for free download.
Oh Dread.
Been listening to it all night. I really like it. The most accessible stuff he's put out since Overdub.
And, hey, free.
The first three tracks take everything he's been doing for the past 3 years and make it effortlessly listenable. The last two tracks let me know he hasn't disappeared in there completely.
The hip hop posturing in track 2 might be hard to stand if you don't know he's mostly kidding. Mostly. Not like in a this-song-is-a-joke way, but I mean, "my six string doth slay what steps in its way"? You get the drift. Litany of Woe doesn't sound like anything he's recorded before. I'm amazed that he does all this himself.
I miss seeing him play. He's in CA and TX a lot, but never at the same time I am.
Why is that, do you think?
