I HAVE AN ENDING.
Or a resolution to the climax, anyway.
It came to me in the shower this morning, as the best ideas usually do, but then I had to spend all day at work without being able to write. My muse hates me; I always seem to feel this insatiable need to write when there are looming deadlines at my actual job.
It's perfect, though--it makes Doylist and Watsonian sense, it's thematically resonant, and it's going to be really, really painful. It also paves over a gaping plot hole and draws together several dangling threads I was hoping to tie off. And did I mention the painful bit?
Now I've just got to write it out and hope it's as good on paper as it is in my head.
Oh also--back from the UK after two refreshing weeks. As vacations go, it was just about perfect. B and I may or may not have written an epic poem in the style of William McGonagall detailing everything from our accommodation to the Hereford Mappa Mundi, and I may or may not be planning to type it up and punctuate it with photographs.
