I really need to get more sleep. I've become familiar with that moment when I'm up late writing and everything turns futile, where that phrase that sounded perfect half an hour ago is hackneyed and that plot point on which the whole story hinges fails to make any kind of emotional or logical sense. I'm now about fifteen minutes past that moment, and if I don't turn my computer off I'll end up deleting everything I wrote tonight in a fit of exhausted pique.
